AI for Product Management: Hands-On Prompting for Government Teams

DateFebruary 6, 2026, 2:00 PM ET
Duration60 minutes

Public sector product teams are expected to deliver user-centered services while navigating policy constraints, legacy systems, and limited capacity. Generative AI can support product work, but only when it’s used thoughtfully, with clear intent and strong human judgment.

In this hands-on Prompting Lab session, you’ll explore how generative AI can support core product management tasks in government, from clarifying user needs and drafting product requirements to prioritizing backlogs, synthesizing research, and preparing decision-ready artifacts.

The goal is not to automate product decisions, but to use generative AI as a thinking partner that helps you move faster, communicate more clearly, and stay focused on public value. This session is designed for public professionals at any level of government involved in designing, managing, or improving digital products and services.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Design prompts that use generative AI to support public sector product management tasks, such as user research synthesis, requirement drafting, and backlog prioritization

  • Apply AI-assisted workflows to real product challenges while maintaining accountability, transparency, and human oversight

  • Adapt reusable prompting patterns shared by peers to improve clarity, alignment, and delivery across product teams
