Partnership provides every city employee access to self-paced courses, live workshops, and multi-session series on responsible AI use in public service
InnovateUS and the City of Sacramento have announced a partnership to make free AI training available to all city employees. The partnership reflects Sacramento's commitment to ensuring every member of its workforce has the tools and knowledge to use AI responsibly, regardless of role or department.
Through the partnership, Sacramento employees now have access to a full range of InnovateUS learning formats, including self-paced courses on using generative AI in daily tasks, identifying AI opportunities in service delivery, and managing risks such as data privacy and bias; live, one-hour workshops on topics ranging from procurement and policy analysis to public communication and AI governance; and multi-session workshop series for employees who want to build deeper expertise in specific areas.
“This partnership gives employees access to practical training that will help them understand how to use AI responsibly, securely, and effectively. By investing in our workforce, we are building the skills and confidence needed to thoughtfully adopt emerging technologies” said Mrudul Sadanandan, Assistant IT Director, City of Sacramento.
All training is free and open to every city employee, with no cost to the City. Participants receive certificates of completion that can support their ongoing professional development.
InnovateUS is a nationally recognized learning initiative that has trained more than 200,000 public sector professionals across all 50 states. Its courses are built specifically for government work, emphasizing practical, applied skills for using AI responsibly, securely, and effectively within public institutions.
