How to Write a Generative AI Policy for Your Jurisdiction
Led by: Santiago Garces
Governments are currently in the midst of grappling with the question of how to approach new generative AI tools and technologies. In May, Boston adopted a “responsible experimentation approach” to artificial intelligence (AI), with a first-of-its-kind policy that promotes greater exploration of how AI can be used to improve government effectiveness and efficiency. In this virtual training, participants will learn from Boston's Chief Information Officer, Santiago Garces, about how he developed the Boston guidelines on using generative AI in public service and how implementation of the new policy is going. Participants will learn about several scenarios in which government workers might want to use AI to improve how they work, as well as the process, decision-making, and recommendations involved in creating a generative AI policy for government.
