Free Innovation Training Program

A partnership between

The State of Arizona has partnered with InnovateUS to provide asynchronous and free training programs for state workers. InnovateUS provides live learning on data, digital, innovation, and AI skills for public sector professionals. Our curriculum provides learners with the skills to deliver more effective, equitable, and engaged policies and services.

Courses we offer

Human-Centered Design

We share practical knowledge and lessons about human-centered design, including:

  • The value of Human-Centered Design and how it can be applied to problems and opportunities in government
  • Framing and scoping a problem with a human-centered lens
  • Using frameworks like empathy interviewing, journey maps, How Might We statements and personas to define a problem and ideate solutions
  • Prototyping and testing ideas to gather feedback and iterate

The Innovation Skills Accelerator Course is an asynchronous, at-your-own-pace program consisting of 15 modules and 26 lecture videos on a wide range of topics.

Through videos, self-assessments and worksheets, we share practical lessons learned about improved ways of working, including:

  • How to use new technologies responsibly
  • How to define actionable problems
  • How to use data and human-centered design
  • How to design effective and equitable solutions
  • How to learn what’s worked elsewhere
  • How to forge powerful partnerships to implement change
  • How to measure and scale what works
