AI for Law Enforcement: Series Wrap-Up and Review

Led by: John Butler & Mark Genatempo

Join John Butler, Director of Criminal Justice Policy, Office of the Governor at State of New Jersey, and Mark Genatempo, Senior Fellow at Rutgers University’s Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience, for a closing session that brings together the key lessons from the AI for Law Enforcement workshop series. This workshop will revisit core concepts, clarify outstanding questions, and reinforce practical skills for evaluating and deploying AI tools in public safety settings. Participants will have dedicated time for discussion, scenario-based Q&A, and guidance on applying series learnings to their own agencies.

  1. Reinforce core concepts covered throughout the series, including responsible use, evaluation, and deployment of AI tools in law enforcement settings.

  2. Clarify remaining questions through scenario-based discussion and open Q&A focused on real-world implementation challenges.

  3. Identify practical next steps for applying lessons from the series within participants’ own agencies, teams, or public safety contexts.

This workshop is part of an InnovateUS Series called Law Enforcement
