BIAS: Understanding and Undermining its Operation in Humans and in the Technology We Create
Led by: Jennifer Eberhardt
Body-worn cameras represent one of the largest investments in public safety in a generation—yet their full potential as a tool to improve police performance remains underutilized. This workshop shows how policing professionals can use body cam footage to improve officer communication and training, assess the impact of training, and even predict moments of escalation during police interactions. The session will highlight the need for multi-stakeholder collaboration to responsibly harness this rich source of data and enhance police-community relations.
