After 101: Building Confidence and Capability with Generative AI

Led by: Nicholas Wolfe

After completing an introductory generative AI training, many public sector professionals are eager to apply what they’ve learned, but aren’t sure how to take the next step. This session provides a clear, practical path forward. Participants will explore early, high-impact use cases; learn how to design safe, trustworthy workflows; and gain strategies for experimenting responsibly with their new AI assistants. Through examples, the workshop helps teams move from basic familiarity to confident, capable use of generative AI in daily government work.

  1. Identify practical, low-risk generative AI use cases that can immediately support public sector workflows.

  2. Develop safe and trustworthy processes for experimenting with AI tools, including prompt design and quality checks.

  3. Build confidence and capability by applying generative AI to real tasks, from drafting communications to improving internal operations.
