Join us for this 90-minute virtual workshop with Judi Brown and Brittany Henry of CivicMakers, a strategic consultancy and community of practitioners that believes in the power of inclusive, collaborative design to shape a better world. Design thinking exercises are fun, but what happens when the real work of implementation occurs and you’re up against processes and policies that don’t leave room for creative problem-solving? This training will explore some of the opportunities and challenges of human-centered design in state government. Participants will learn from a case study with the state of California that paired expert design strategy with capacity building for staff. Participants will come away with a blueprint for how the application of design in state services can move from ideas to implementation.
